IVTV Remote is a GUI for changing channels. It's very light and was written in C and SDL. It's not version dependent as long as ivtv-tune doesn't change. You can't change your region or frequency list with it, though, so whatever your card is set to at boot is what you're stuck with but it's still better than using ivtv-tune when it comes to channel surfing.
