Thanks this was helpful, I finally found some time yesterday to tinker. Just
a few obstacles, I had to remove the references and calls to
ivtv_reset_ir_gpio() otherwise it would not load.

The LED is not entirely efficient either, if I have the LED off by a mm on
the STB  it would not work at all. Considering replacing the emitter with
and IR LED.
