I have an issue with my PVR-500 on mythtv that I have not been able to
resolve.
I am using the latest rpm from atrpms of mythtv and am currently have
problems with my master backend server when I am changing channels while
watching live tv.
This all appear to have started when I upgraded to the latest kernel
version of Fedora core 8 version 2.6.25.14-69.fc8 (64 bit version) and
I can not go back because some of the modules I need for mythtv to work
on the older kernel are no longer available via atrpms.
******************* Now to get down to the problem **************
When I first enter live tv the video and audio is clear. When I go to
change channels the video stays clear and the audio becomes just
static. If I exit live tv and come back in the channel that had static
now has clear audio.
I was using the ivtv kernel version from atrpms but then remembered that
the ivtv driver is suppose to be included in the current linux kernel so
I removed it. After this Linux was able to see the PVR-500 but it did
not appear to have initialized properly since Mythtv did not recognize
the card. I then noticed that none of the v4l-xxxx firmware libraries
did not exist in the /lib/firmware directory so I downloaded the latest
libraries from the ivtv site. Mythtv now recognizes the PVR-500 but I
have the same issue with static as soon as I change the channel.
Another interesting thing is that recordings made by the PVR-500 are as
clear as they have always been.
I am not sure what additional information would be required so please
let me know. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
