you seem to have solved the problem!!
I am not able to reproduce the crashes with your latest version.
Because I usually avoid to use development drivers on my system:
Is it possible to apply your latest patch also to the ivtv-ioctl.c
of a 2.6.27 or 2.6.28 kernel?
